Here is the roster for the Imperials themselves and the lands they come from:
Avalon (England) - Team Leader.
The Leaf (Canada) - Combat Specialist
Johnny Dingo (Australia) - Raw muscle and brute savagery
The Black Rod (England) - Teleporter
The Mystic Ghurka (Nepal) - Covert Operations
Victoria Cross (England) - Espionage
Dune (Egypt) - Environmental control abilities
Jill Canada (Canada) - Strongwoman
Skirmish (England) - Battlefield tactician
Old Mr. Grim (England) - Spectral Ghost
These are the currently developed members of the Imperials. I see this team as something like a British Commonwealth/Empire version of the JLA, so there is room for alot of other characters. A few of the ideas we'd been kicking around:
Bushmaster - Hailing from British Guyana, Bushmaster is a former big game hunter and weapon specialist. Picture Burt Gummer from the Tremors movies and make him British and you have a good idea of what this character is all about. He has a gun for almost any job and usually adopts a sniper kind of role in any Imperials mission.
Shard - From South Africa comes Shard, a diamond miner who got a piece of alien stone lodged in his hand. The stone gives him great powers, powers he himself does not fully understand. As a Boer, his loyalty is considered suspect by some of the other Imperials.
The Fakir – From India a Hindu mystic able to employ extreme mental powers against his foes, such as hypnosis and mesmerism as well as the more mundane skills of a martial artist. He has the almost supernatural ability to extend his arms and legs to nearly twice their normal length, an ability he uses extensively in his martial arts. He exerts a great deal of will power over his own body as well, allowing him to accomplish paranormal feats. For instance, when shot, by sheer force of will alone he can prevent his body from bleeding, he can enter states that simulate death and endure extremes of heat and cold without exhibiting either discomfort or negative effects.
Phansigar - A supervillain from India pressed into the war effort. Granted a stay of execution if he will fight the Nazis, Phansigar readily accepts. He is a practitioner of Thugee, the murderous cult of Kali and a living vessel for the goddess of death's power. Each man he strangles adds to his profane strength. Even more than Shard, the Imperials are suspicious of this villainous wretch.
The Burmese Python - From Burma comes the Burmese Python, a POW taken by the Japanese army and experimented upon by the infamous Unit 731 in Manchuria. He survives the experiments and escapes, now endowed with the ability to manipulate his bone structure, essentially flattening his own skeleton and making him the greatest contortionist and escape artist in the world. Like a python, his grip is almost impossible to escape.
